Please join us Sundays at 10:30am!

at Kin On, 4416 S Brandon St - Community Room (entrance at rear of building)

Holy Week 2024 Schedule

Palm Sunday, March 24, 10:30am: We enter Holy Week with music, stories, and a procession waving branches, commemorating Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. The crowds quickly turned on him, however, calling for his execution. The story descends to the depths of unjust suffering and death, in search of God’s redeeming presence and hope.

Maundy Thursday, March 28, 6:30pm: Celebrate Jesus' final evening with his friends with a service reflecting on how we are shaped by following the example of Jesus’ servant leadership. The service will include communion and foot washing; you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish.

Easter Sunday, March 31, 10:30am: Love wins! God’s power reaches even into the grave, finding new life amidst death and hope from despair! Celebrate Jesus’ Resurrection and the triumph of life and love with this joyful service.

All services will be in the Community Room at Kin On. We encourage you to join one of our sisters congregations for Good Friday and/or Saturday Easter Vigil Service.

Construction is underway for our new home back on Angeline Street, along with 87 units of affordable housing created by El Centro de la Raza. We hope to be back in our new space in 2025!

Please email us at admin@columbiacityhope.org for questions and clarifications about our gathering location or anything else!

There is a place for you here.

As a new community of faith, we seek to awaken to God's presence in the midst of ordinary life. Together, we are figuring out what it means to notice and take part in all the ways that God shows up in the world. We are creating a radically inclusive space where everyone can be real. We trust that we can bring our whole selves here and honestly address the struggles within our own lives and in society. God (and the community) can handle it—and find the beauty in it.

We ask hard questions of God and ourselves, and we freely express our doubts and struggles as we explore the complexities and mysteries of life. We work for justice, especially for those who are systematically denied it: people experiencing homelessness, those who identify as LGBT, People of Color, those who are economically marginalized. We believe in the universal truth that we’re all connected. Together, we explore faith, nurture spirituality, build community, and serve the world.

As our Mission Statement says, we are a progressive faith community rooted in God’s grace and acceptance and growing together toward justice, love, and wholeness.

Join us to see for yourself how this community of grace can be a nurturing, challenging, transformative place for you!

Peace,
Pastor Darla DeFrance
