We are doing a church-wide retreat this summer instead of our usual church camp out. We'll be staying at the beautiful Dumas Bay Centre in Federal Way, WA! They have guest rooms set aside for us (no tents necessary!), there are gorgeous views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to look at and wonderful gardens to wander through. We think it will be the perfect spot for some rest, a little play and great community building. In addition, we will also be welcoming a great guest speaker! Rev. Tali Hairston, a Presbyterian pastor who grew up in the Columbia City neighborhood and who has decades of experience working with church communities on racial justice, equity, and diversity, will be leading us in an exploration of our neighborhood where we worship and live.
