What’s Happening to Church of Hope?
Church of Hope will move out of our current space in October 2022…but we’ll be back!
El Centro de La Raza is currently lining up funding for their affordable housing project which will utilize the property that the current church building is on as well as Consejo Counseling’s old building next door. The plan is to begin construction in early 2023. Residences will be ready mid-2024, and the new church space several months after that. Church of Hope will move out of our current space in October 2022 and plan to return to our new space in 2025.
What are we doing for our last church service in the old building?
So glad you asked! Our last in-person service in our current building will be on Sunday October 30th. We will have time for sharing memories (and feelings about transition!) throughout October. On Reformation Sunday, Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee joining us for a special blessing at our last worship gathering in the old building.
Will there still be church service after we move out of our building?
Yes! We will continue to meet on Sunday mornings for our weekly service. After our Oct 30th move-out date, we’ll continue meeting using this schedule:
1st & 3rd Sundays of each month on Zoom (no in-person service)
2nd & 4th Sundays of each month in-person at Kin On Community Center (4416 S Brandon St)
any 5th Sundays of a month: attend worship as guests at a predetermined Seattle faith community — more details as this arises!
This worship schedule may shift or adjust as our community sees the need. Check back regularly for any updates!
When will the new space be ready?
Pending any construction or project delays, Church of Hope will return to a brand-new space (at our same current location) in 2025.
